This OpportunityWSP is seeking a Field Engineer to join our Construction Management team out of our Herndon, VA office. Your Impact Job Duties:Provide technical support to Construction Area Resident Engineer, Construction Manager and field inspection staff providing owners rep program management services.Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with: Contract plans and specificationsFRA, Amtrak, CSX, and VRE standardsEnvironmental permit conditionsConduct daily inspections of work in place (concrete pours, rebar placement, foundations, trackwork, etc.) Support required testing and quality documentationinterpret and verify compliance with specifications, work instructions, methods, procedures, and product data. Assist in developing construction inspection and oversight strategies, and work directly with program management staff and design/build contractor personnel to implement Maintain regular logs of work progressDevelop and maintain a thorough understanding of construction plans, project specifications, work instructions, schedules, applicable safety regulations, and relevant design, shop, and other associated drawings to stay informed about the responsibilities, plans, and schedule of the project and the Design/BuilderProvide technical support for a range of activities not limited to precast concrete placement, concrete pours, deep foundations, structural steel placement, construction of piers, abutments, approaches, work over water and other project Interface with engineers to evaluate Field Design Changes, Non Conformance Reports and Requests for InformationProvide scheduling recommendations based on client’s allowable work windows; Monitor and support project activities in the field, providing technical assistance as neededPerform other duties as assigned by the Resident EngineerWho You Are Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field or equivalent3-5 years of experience in construction of Class 1 Rail projects or similar infrastructureProven experience with concrete and steel structuresAbility to read and interpret plans, specifications, and repair procedures, and provide guidance to maintenance crews on document interpretationAbility to proactively assist maintenance crews in selecting and deploying materials and equipment, including related construction methods and techniquesAbility to identify and address safety and quality concerns; and Ability to coordinate with maintenance staff, communicate effectively with all parties and good interpersonal skills. Compensation:Expected Salary (all locations): $110,750-140,080/yearWSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
